One Shining Moment

I am fighting a losing battle, I am well aware of this. But I will try nonetheless. I’ve become a hockey fan and think you should all start watching hockey too. I’ll wait for you to stop laughing……done? I know the NHL has become somewhat of a joke over the past few years. Most of the damage has been self-inflicted. When you have a strike and nobody notices, that’s is probably a good indication that you’re no longer one of the major sports leagues. I’m here to tell you this, the NHL is turning it around you you should hop on board. In future posts, I’m going to make the argument that the NHL may be the best league out there and if you love sports, you should be signing up today, because it’s the only real one left. I’m going to compare the current and possible future states of the NHL vs. what you are actually watching: the NFL, NBA and MLB. Wish me luck. I’ll leave you with this as exhibit #1.That just happened. Is that not something you can root for? If Max Talbot (the guy with the fu manchu) were in the NFL, he’d be a household name. The guy is like that all the time. He lists Hooters as his favorite restaurant in the Pens media guide. The only change I would make is to have the two guys that show up at the end (All-Stars Sergi Gonchar and Evgeni Malkin) dress like this and the NHL has itself a new national TV spot. This spot should air during the Super Bowl. Would you rather watch this or Tom Brady’s Stetson commercial? Now your coming around to my way of thinking.
